The NDA series are unique pieces designed by renowned French product designer Philippe Nigro. He created the NDA series based on Akita Japan’s traditional technique urushi-nuri, giving birth to unique pieces with a modern feel. Both the NDA series and MACKINTOSH, are based on traditional craftsmanship combined with creating products to fit our modern lifestyle. This exhibition is the result of this combination.

Philippe Nigro is French designer born in Nice. Characterized by a connection between prospective research and pragmatic appreciation of the “savoir-faire” of manufacturers with whom he works, Philippe moves between projects of different scale, whether it is with well-know brands in the luxury industry or local craftspeople. Over the years these experiences, enriched by a mixture of Franco-Italian culture, allow him to meet head-on the different aspects of design.
MACKINTOSH is British brand known for the rubberized coat invented 1823 by Mr. Charles Mackintosh, a chemist from Glasgow.
MACKINTOSH still makes coats in the traditional way from the 19th century in Glasgow. In addition to their rubberized coat, other outerwear such as duffle and trench coats are also very popular for their authenticity and modern design.
